The Tisi tea set is part of a collection designed for those moments when you want to brew loose leaf tea for the whole family or a group of friends. The spacious 670ml teapot brews enough tea in one go to comfortably pour into all six cups. The set is also well suited for multiple steepings.

Chinese ceramics and tea tradition

Tea culture gained significant popularity in China during the Tang Dynasty (618–907), and during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) the practice of steeping dried tea leaves in a teapot became widespread. This long tradition has naturally shaped the design of tea ware, which is crafted for comfortable steeping, pouring, and communal serving.

The light-coloured ceramics of both the teapot and cups feature bold black bamboo drawings complemented by Chinese calligraphy and small red accents — a design that brings a distinctly Chinese character to any table. Tisi has a larger, rounded teapot with a tall arched handle that ensures a comfortable grip. The upper rims of the cups and the details of the teapot are framed by a thin wine-brown to reddish-brown line, accented with small red touches. The decoration on the teapot and cups is coordinated into one cohesive visual whole.

The 670ml teapot is ideal for shared tea sessions and brewing larger quantities of tea at once. Six 150ml cups provide just enough room to divide the entire brew among them after steeping.

The coarse strainer built into the spout opening catches larger loose leaf tea pieces during pouring. The leaves move freely inside the teapot during brewing, giving them plenty of room to unfurl.

This is not a separate, removable strainer. Once your desired steeping time is reached, it is best to pour out the entire brew from the teapot so the leaves don't remain submerged and continue steeping.

Our tip – how to steep tea multiple times

Add an amount of loose leaf tea to the teapot appropriate for the type of tea and the amount of water you're preparing. Leave the leaves to move freely inside the teapot and pour over water at the temperature recommended for that particular tea.

Once the recommended steeping time is up, pour out the entire brew from the teapot. With Tisi, you can easily divide it among six 150ml cups. This way the leaves won't remain submerged and further steeping will stop.

If the tea is suitable for multiple steepings, simply pour fresh water at the appropriate temperature over the leaves again.

With subsequent steepings, pay attention to the flavour and adjust the steeping time as needed. Some loose leaf teas can be steeped repeatedly, and each infusion may bring a slightly different flavour profile.

Which teas work best with Tisi?

Thanks to the free steeping of leaves directly in the spacious 670ml teapot and the coarse strainer at the spout, Tisi is best suited for loose leaf teas with larger or whole leaves that need plenty of room to unfurl during steeping. Natural choices include:

• Oolongs
• White teas
• Black teas with larger leaves
• Whole leaf green teas
• Pu-erh teas with larger leaves

For teas suitable for multiple steepings, the leaves can be re-steeped with fresh water after pouring out the first infusion. With very finely broken teas, rooibos, or small herbal blends, fine particles may pass through the coarse strainer.

Care instructions

• Rinse the teapot with warm water after each use
• Wash the cups with a gentle dish soap
• Pay special attention to the coarse strainer at the spout when cleaning, to make sure no tea leaves remain caught in the openings
• To preserve the appearance of the ceramics and decoration, we recommend gentle hand washing
