Chinese ceramics and tea tradition

Tea culture gained widespread popularity in China during the Tang Dynasty (618–907), and during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), the practice of steeping dried tea leaves in a pot became the norm. Our tip – how to brew loose-leaf tea with the removable strainer

Place the amount of loose-leaf tea appropriate for the type of tea and volume of water you're preparing into the removable strainer. Insert the strainer into the teapot, add water at the temperature recommended for that particular tea, and steep for the recommended amount of time.

Once the tea is ready, remove the strainer along with the tea leaves from the teapot. This stops the steeping process, and the finished brew can remain in the teapot without continuing to strengthen.

If the tea is suitable for multiple steepings, you can place the strainer with the leaves back into the teapot later and brew another infusion with fresh water. With each subsequent steep, follow the characteristics of the specific tea and adjust the steeping time to taste.
