The ocarina is a very old flute-type musical instrument. Its uniqueness lies mainly in its size, as it fits in the palm of your hand or pocket. Most often the ocarina is made of ceramic or porcelain. Wood, metal or glass are also used to a lesser extent. You can choose from different colours and shapes (e.g. ovoid, circular or crescent-shaped).
The ocarina contains several holes. When you cover them with your finger and then blow into the mouthpiece, you will hear picturesque tones. They come in different tunings. This instrument is very practical when travelling. However, if you prefer noisier instruments, you can get a Tibetan bell or gong, for example.
