Chinese ceramics and tea tradition

Tea culture gained significant popularity in China during the Tang Dynasty (618–907), and it was during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) that the practice of steeping dried tea leaves in a pot became widespread. This long tradition has naturally shaped the design of tea ware — crafted for comfortable steeping, pouring, and communal serving.

Feilai features a generously rounded teapot with a tall arched handle. The ceramics are light in color, and the entire surface — both the teapot and the cups — is decorated with botanical motifs featuring lotus leaves, flowers, and fish.

The 860 ml teapot is ideal for sharing tea with a group and brewing a larger quantity in one go. The six 180 ml cups give you plenty of volume to divide the entire brew evenly among your guests.

The removable infuser basket lets you monitor steeping time more precisely. Once the tea reaches the desired strength, simply lift out the basket with the leaves and the brew won't continue to strengthen.

Our tip – how to brew loose-leaf tea with a removable infuser

Add the appropriate amount of loose-leaf tea to the infuser basket, based on the type of tea and the amount of water you're preparing. Place the basket in the teapot, pour in water at the temperature recommended for that tea, and steep for the suggested amount of time.

Once the tea is ready, remove the infuser basket along with the leaves from the teapot. This stops the steeping process, and the brewed tea can remain in the pot without continuing to strengthen.

If the tea is suited to multiple infusions, you can place the basket back in the teapot later and brew another infusion with fresh water. For each subsequent infusion, follow the characteristics of that particular tea and adjust the steeping time to taste.

Care instructions
