Product description Tea Set Erduo
The Erduo tea set is designed for those moments when you want to brew a good loose-leaf tea at home for yourself and your guests. The 670 ml teapot and six 150 ml cups are sized so that after steeping, you can comfortably divide the entire brew evenly between all the cups.
Chinese Ceramics and Tea Tradition
Tea culture gained significant popularity in China during the Tang Dynasty (618–907), and during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), the practice of steeping dried tea leaves in a pot became widespread. This long tradition has naturally shaped the design of tea ware, which is well suited for comfortable steeping, pouring, and communal serving.
The Erduo features a larger, rounded teapot with a tall arched handle that's easy to grip when pouring. Both the teapot and cups are decorated with a delicate black-and-grey botanical pattern, complemented by burgundy-brown trim along the rims. Some of the cups also feature Chinese characters. The decoration on the teapot and cups is designed to complement each other.
What's Included in the Set?
- 670 ml ceramic teapot
- Six 150 ml ceramic cups
- Coarse strainer integrated into the spout
The 670 ml teapot is well suited for shared tea sessions and brewing larger quantities at once. The six 150 ml cups provide just the right capacity to divide the entire brewed infusion among them after steeping.
The coarse strainer integrated into the spout catches larger loose-leaf tea leaves while pouring. The leaves move freely inside the teapot during brewing, giving them plenty of room to fully open and unfurl.
Note that this is not a separate removable strainer. Once your desired steeping time is reached, it's best to pour out the entire brew from the teapot so the tea leaves don't remain submerged and continue steeping.
Our Tip – How to Steep Tea Multiple Times
Add the appropriate amount of loose-leaf tea to the teapot based on the type of tea and the amount of water you're brewing. Let the leaves sit loosely inside the pot and pour water at the temperature recommended for that particular tea.
Once the recommended steeping time is up, pour out the entire brew from the teapot. With the Erduo, you can easily divide it among six 150 ml cups. This way the leaves won't stay submerged and further steeping stops.
If the tea is suitable for multiple infusions, simply pour fresh water at the appropriate temperature over the leaves again.
With each subsequent infusion, pay attention to the taste and adjust the steeping time as needed. Some loose-leaf teas can be re-steeped multiple times, and each infusion can bring out a slightly different flavour profile.
Take a moment to slow down and enjoy a tea ritual – discover the beauty of a mindful, unhurried brewing experience.
Which Teas Work Best with the Erduo?
Free steeping directly in the teapot combined with the coarse strainer is best suited to loose-leaf teas with larger or whole leaves that can fully develop their flavour and aroma during steeping. Great options include oolongs, white teas, black teas with larger leaves, whole-leaf green teas, or pu-erh with larger leaves.
With very finely ground teas, rooibos, or small herbal blends, fine particles may pass through the coarse strainer – for these teas, we recommend using a separate fine-mesh strainer.
Care Instructions
- Rinse the teapot with warm water after each use
- Wash the cups with a mild dish soap
- When cleaning, pay special attention to the coarse strainer at the spout to make sure no tea leaves remain lodged in the holes
- To preserve the appearance of the ceramic, we recommend gentle hand washing
