The Misty Mountains teapot is best suited for high-quality loose-leaf teas that can handle multiple steepings. It works particularly well with oolongs, green and white teas, Chinese black teas, and pu-erh.

The smaller capacity of the pot naturally lends itself to brewing several shorter infusions rather than one large one. With each successive steep, you can notice a slightly different intensity, aroma, and flavor from the same tea.

Our tip: How to brew tea using the gongfu cha method

• Start by warming the teapot with hot water.
• Add your tea leaves. In gongfu cha, you use more leaves and less water than in a standard brew.
• Pour water at the appropriate temperature for your specific tea and steep for only a short time.
• Always pour out the entire infusion and re-steep the leaves. For subsequent infusions, you can gradually extend the steeping time as needed.
• When brewing for multiple people, pour the tea first into a pitcher (chahai) and then distribute it into small cups. When brewing just for yourself, you can pour directly into your cup.
