Quality materials such as stainless steel or thermoplastic polymer are today's standard for hookahs, not only because of their resistance to damage or overheating, but also because of their ease of maintenance and durability.

Stylish design distinguishes the different brands and models, in the case of the KVZE Grid, for example, the unmistakable decoration of the charcoal tray on the top and bottom.

An interesting check valve design is also common in newer hookah models. The normal check valve has been replaced by top check valves, or as in the case of the KVZE Grip, an ingenious routing of the smoke through the body of the hookah to a perforated sleeve through which the smoke passes out.

The "cut" hose connector, which does not require sealing rings to connect the hose, is a common solution in modern hookahs that is as elegant as it is practical.

The removable diffuser is almost taken for granted. It gives the user the choice of whether they want a light draw and quiet running hookah, or the good old loud bubbling of water in the base without the use of a diffuser.
