Product description Statuette Concrete Ganesh 72 cm Grey

The concrete fountain depicting the god Ganesha is ideal for outdoor spaces. Ganesha placed on a balcony, terrace or garden will serve as a harmonizing decoration and as a symbol of the protector.

And don't forget to place the Ganesha statue on a table or other pedestal. Leaving it directly on the ground is considered disrespectful.

GANESH

One of the most popular Hindu gods. God of prudence, wisdom and art. He is kind, helps remove obstacles and difficulties. Because of his benevolent nature he is generally regarded as the protector of dwellings. He is invoked before the start of any new journey, venture, move. Ganesha has an elephant head, trunk (which removes obstacles), sometimes one tusk. It usually has two rows of arms in which it carries the familiar attributes: a shell, a discus, a scepter and a water lily. Its bulky abdomen contains the entire universe. His sacred animal is the rat, which sits at his feet.

There are a number of legends dealing with how Ganesha came to possess the elephant's head. For the sake of interest, we present this:

Mother Parvati created her son Ganesha from a piece of her clothing, in the absence of her husband (Shiva). One day, she sent Ganesha to watch the house and not let anyone in while she took bath. At that time Shiva returned, (not knowing his son), suspecting that he had come across his wife's lover, he cut off Ganesha's head. On discovering the fact, Shiva went on his way and beheaded the first creature he met. He thus gave Ganesh the head of an elephant.
