The story of the Dojo fragrance – inspired by the Usuzumi no Sakura tree
Koh Do Dojo incense sticks are inspired by the sacred Usuzumi no Sakura – a pale grey tree that blooms with hundreds of delicate cherry blossoms. This magnificent ancient cherry tree grows in the remote mountains of Gifu and has been blooming anew each spring for over 1,500 years, like a miracle of life. In contemplating the beauty of the Usuzumi no Sakura, there lies a quiet whisper of eternity.
About the Koh-Do collection
The Koh-Do collection is inspired by the Japanese art of Kōdō (香道) — literally "The Way of Fragrance" or "The Art of Listening to Scents". This traditional Japanese art has been practiced since the medieval period and stands alongside the tea ceremony (Chadō) and ikebana (Kadō) as one of Japan's most refined classical arts. The Koh-Do collection draws directly on this rich tradition — in its name, its philosophy, and its carefully chosen artistic expression.
