Into the calabash with the bombilla inside, sprinkle 2 - 3 teaspoons of maté leaves. Pour water, heated to 80 degrees, over the metal bombilla, ensuring the maté does not get scorched. The refilling process can be repeated until the maté is still strong and tastes good. Maté can also be drunk sweet by adding sugar to the maté leaves in the calabash.
The capacity and height of the vessel are approximate, each calabash is unique. The height ranges from 9 cm - 12 cm, the capacity ranges from 300 - 600 ml, depending on the shape and height of the vessel.
